Shipping Policy

Shipping & Returns Policy

1. Shipping Information

National Delivery: We ship Australia-wide using specialised freight carriers experienced in handling fragile goods (e.g., TNT, Aramex).

  • Packaging: All glass is securely packed in custom reinforced cardboard or timber crates/frames to withstand harsh transport conditions.
  • Dispatch: Orders for in-stock items are typically dispatched the same business day, but not guaranteed.

Authority to Leave (ATL): Due to the value and fragile nature of machinery glass, we strongly recommend against giving Authority to Leave. If you request ATL, Machinery Glass accepts no responsibility for theft, weather damage, or breakage that occurs after the goods are delivered.

2. CRITICAL: Receiving Your Delivery (The “Inspect Before Signing” Rule)

Please read this carefully. It affects your insurance cover.

Glass is fragile. While we pack it to survive the journey, accidents can happen in transit.

You must inspect the packaging and the glass BEFORE signing the couriers delivery docket.

  • If the box looks damaged: Open it immediately while the driver waits.
  • If the glass is broken: REFUSE the delivery. Do not sign for it. Ask the driver to mark it as “Damaged/Rejected” and return it to the sender.
  • Contact us immediately: Call us on 0411953179 so we can dispatch a replacement.

WARNING: By signing the delivery docket, you are confirming that the goods have been received in “Good Condition.” Once signed, transit insurance is voided. We cannot accept claims for transit damage after you have signed for the delivery.

3. Returns Policy (Change of Mind / Ordered Wrong Part)

We understand that identifying machinery parts can be difficult. If you have ordered the incorrect glass, we can accept a return under the following conditions:

  1. Notification: You must notify us within 7 days of delivery.
  2. Condition: The glass must be returned in its original condition and packaging. It must not have been fitted, glued, or scratched.
  3. Return Freight: The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. Note: Shipping glass is expensive. Please double-check your model number before ordering.
  4. Restocking Fee: A restocking fee of 15% applies to all non-faulty returns to cover warehouse handling and administration.

Exclusions:

  • Custom Cut / Special Orders: Glass custom cut to your templates or especially imported for your machine cannot be returned unless faulty.

4. Installation & Breakage Disclaimer (DIY Fitting)

Machinery Glass supplies high-quality aftermarket glass. However, we cannot control how it is installed.

  • Professional Installation Recommended: We strongly advise using a qualified windscreen technician to install your machinery glass.
  • DIY Risk: If you choose to install the glass yourself, Service 8 Machinery Glass is not liable for any breakage or damage that occurs during the installation process.
    • Toughened glass can shatter if the edge is tapped (even lightly) or if the frame is twisted.
    • Laminated glass can crack if forced into a bent frame or incorrect installation tools are used.

Once the glass has been delivered in good condition, the risk passes to the customer.

5. Warranty

Our glass is covered by a statutory warranty against manufacturing defects (e.g., delamination, optical distortion).

  • This warranty does not cover breakage caused by impact, misuse, or improper installation.
