Why Custom Made Windscreens?
Earth moving machines which use traditional style glazing methods (rubber gaskets) and flat laminated glass, can be custom cut and processed onsite.
This enables our emergency technicians to respond faster to call outs, without the need to wait for ordered glass parts.
Australian Standards For Plant Glazing
Windscreens for all land vehicles must carry an Australian Standards badge to comply with strict Australian Standards. This includes cab glass for heavy plant.
Many cheap auto glass companies skip this important process in order to use off cuts of scrap glass to save themselves money.
Without a visible Standards Badge the glass cannot be identified for safety. It’s only when an injury occurs does this come to attention.
Service 8® is a trusted brand that takes safety seriously. We don’t cut corners to save a few dollars.
Further more, we always use the correct safety glass for the application. Therefore, we will not become a liability to you and your company.
It is a requirement that all windscreens for land vehicles must show a readable Australian Standards Badge. This show type of safety glass, branding and origin. Are your machines compliant?
What Cab Glass Can We Custom Cut?
Service 8® can custom make windscreens that are flat, so long as there are no holes for windscreen wipers, hinges, handles, etc.
However, we can cut radius corners and some free hand cut out shapes. For more complex shapes we use a water-jet cutting system, providing we have templates.
